BFA Database Backups
BFA Database Backups is an internal administrative utility for Brandon Festival of the Arts Inc. It is intended to help authorised Festival personnel protect and recover essential registration and operational records.
What the service does
The service creates recovery copies of information held by the Festival. When configured and enabled, it uses Google Drive as an off-site destination for backup files.
This is not a public registration or file-sharing application. Entrants, parents, teachers and adjudicators do not need to use the service or connect their Google accounts in order to participate in the Festival.
How Google Drive is used
- An authorised BFA administrator connects a designated Google Drive account.
- The service is intended to request
drive.filepermission, allowing it to create, list, read, modify and remove only files and folders created by the application. - The service uses Google Drive for backup storage and recovery, not advertising, analytics, user profiling or access to unrelated Drive documents.
- Backup contents are intended to be encrypted prior to transfer. The off-site transfer should be activated only after encryption is configured and tested.
Privacy and access
Backup files may contain Festival registration or administrative information. Access is intended to be restricted to authorised personnel. Information is handled under the Festival's Privacy Policy, including its provisions on storage, service providers, retention and privacy requests.
The Google account holder can revoke the application's Google Drive access through their Google Account settings.
